S.A. Luke, Renteria Wines on Radio Show

Posted on

Our 21st Year of Eating, Drinking and Talking about It!

HOUSTON Saturdays and Sunday 4-5 p.m., NewsRadio 740 KTRH

A Presentation of Spec’s Wines, Spirits & Finer Foods

SATURDAY: We travel to San Antonio this week, driving into the present for a taste of our past. Luke, the Chef John Besh restaurant in our hometown of New Orleans, just opened its second location – on the Riverwalk, no less. We sit down for a tasting of its French-German Alsatian favorites. In our Grape & Grain segment, we visit with a Mexican family that came to Napa Valley to pick grapes and, through a couple generations of hard work, ended up owning a terrific winery called Renteria.

SUNDAY: One of the smallest restaurants we’ve ever featured on this show – with only eight tables – is the new kid on the Houston block called Latin Bites Café. We gather with the three partners in the smaller-than-life venture, including executive chef Roberto Castre, and find out who the Peruvian fusion food served here makes these the hottest eight tables in town. In our Sunday arts segment, we visit a new exhibit at Houston’s Museum of Fine Arts that looks beyond the Old West to the Even Older West.

AUSTIN Saturdays 10-11 a.m., Talk 1370
