SATURDAY: This month’s Esquire magazine spotlights, as it does each year at this time, critic John Mariani’s picks for the best new restaurants in America. As it does almost every year at this time, it features more than one place in Texas – and both of this years shows have been featured on Delicious Mischief. Stephan Pyles gets a nod for his dazzlingly exotic spice route fantasy called Samar in Dallas, and we sit down this week with exec chef Randy Evans and owner Rhea Wheeler at Haven in Houston. We also taste the wines brought to Haven by two lovely ladies from Napa Valley, Sharon Harris of Rarecat and Amici, and Beth Novac Milliken of Spottswoode. 

SUNDAY: West Texas has been famous for many things over the decades, and so has the town of Marfa – which since the 1970s has become an unlikely international arts destination thanks to the late Donald Judd. But West Texas has never garnered much attention for dining much past the DQ, until now. We go around Marfa in this show, interviewing the chefs and other food and wine professionals who are answering all this art with some artistry of their own.  Especially at restaurants like Cochineal, you are in for a big sky full of surprises.
